The second installment in Omron Microscan's Introduction to Machine Vision series: Why Use Machine Vision? This video overviews how machine vision can save money and increase profitability for inspection applications. Machine vision inspection can reduce product defects, increase yields, track parts and products through production, and facilitating compliance with regulations.
Microscan presents its latest machine vision smart camera platform, MicroHAWK®, with a demonstration of the new MicroHAWK MV-40 Ethernet Smart Camera integrated into a Universal Robots collaborative UR3 robot used to perform a component check on a small engine.
From the floor of Automate 2015 in Chicago, Microscan Machine Vision Promoter Dr. Jonathan Ludlow presents a demo from Microscan and our partner Cross Company utilizing a UR5 robotic arm integrated with a Microscan Vision HAWK Smart Camera. This demo illustrates flexible in-line inspection, where parts and assembly can be quality checked from multiple angles during production with the help of robotics.
Omron Microscan's smarter smart camera platform, MicroHAWK®, is unveiled for the first time at The Vision Show 2016 in Boston, MA. MicroHAWK combines advanced barcode reading up to complex machine vision inspection all on the world's smallest smart cameras available, ideal for embedded applications in OEM for factory automation and clinical instrumentation.
This two-minute video shows Omron Microscan's Mobile Hawk DPM Imager quickly and easily reading over twenty different direct part marks. This video demonstrates that the Mobile Hawk is the world's highest performance handheld imager that can easily read the most challenging of codes from linear barcodes to 2D symbols marked directly on a wide range of materials.

Ensuring the correct batch, date, and lot codes on packaged food products ensures proper automated product labeling and accurate stock shipped to customers. In this video, an Omron Microscan Vision HAWK Smart Camera uses AutoVISION Machine Vision Software to read and verify the accuracy of human-readable codes on the bottom of cans at speeds of up to 500 parts per minute. Cans without codes - or with incorrect codes - are rejected from the line while the remaining cans are routed to their appropriate bright stock application or batching processes.
