Mechanical Engineer

Microscan is a leading global provider of precision data acquisition and control solutions located in Renton. As a result of strong business growth a need has arisen to recruit a talented Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will be a member of the R&D design team, supporting new product development. (Please refer to www.microscan.com for examples of Microscan products). Duties include design and documentation of machined, sheet metal, and tooled parts (cast and plastic). The Mechanical Engineer will use Solidworks for 3D modeling and will create drawings and specifications. The candidate will also provide Mechanical Engineering support for manufacturing.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering required.

• 1-3 years experience with mechanical design software – SolidWorks preferred

• 1-3 years experience as a team member in an R&D environment

• Experience with documentation, including creating and checking engineering drawings

• Experience designing machined parts, tooled parts, and sheet metal parts

• Must be able to work effectively with other departments (QA, Mfg., Marketing)

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
